Putin, Russia’s President, hailed India’s ties with his country, saying it is developing in the “spirit of a privileged strategic partnership”.
Putin congratulated President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the country’s special occasion of 75th Independence Day. He commented that India has been able to achieve success in the social, economic, scientific, technical and in other sectors. Putin said that India has played a “constructive role” in addressing the issues on the international agenda.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated “Please, accept warmest congratulations on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence”.
Putin highlighted India’s importance in the world and said, “India rightfully enjoys considerable prestige on the world stage and plays an important constructive role in resolving pressing issues on the international agenda.”
He further admitted that over the decades, India has achieved recognised success in the economic, social, scientific, technical and in other fields.
Putin’s message “Moscow and New Delhi are cooperating successfully in various areas and interacting effectively as part of the UN, BRICS, SCO and other multilateral structures. I am certain that our joint efforts will ensure continued development of the entire set of the fruitful Russian-Indian ties for the benefit of our two nations and in the interests of strengthening regional and global security and stability,”
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the national flag at Red Fort on the occasion of 75th Independence Day, and called for greater ‘self-reliance’ in India. In his speech that lasted for 80 minutes, he charted out India’s growth and development plan in the next 25 years when the nation will mark its Independence centenary. The prime minister also commended the Indian armed forces for backing the vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharta’ that is self-reliance.
