The latest from Chapter Two is Golden Maknae- Jungkook’s first solo single called ‘Seven’ which has successfully garnered love from fans all over the world!
JUNGKOOK’S ‘SEVEN’ IS BREAKING ALL RECORDS!
BTS’s Jeon Jungkook officially embarked on his solo journey with his latest ‘Seven’ which was released on July 19. The music video garnered 39 million views in just 24 hours. Breaking all records, ‘Seven’ claimed the #1 spot in 100 countries, thus making it the fastest song to achieve such a feat in history. It took over 2.5 hours for ‘Seven’ to surpass the previous records, firmly reinforcing Jungkook as a force in the music industry.
Furthermore, on July 20, Seven became the fastest song in Spotify’s history to reach 10 million streams within just six days of its release. The music video acquired an astounding 83.3 million views in just the first seven days of its release, far surpassing any rivals.
Jungkook’s agency- BigHit Entertainment described the song as a powerful “summer song” and an outstanding addition to Jungkook’s discography. The song is ruling the music charts throughout the world and is currently at the top position on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ list.
But the song’s popularity on streaming services and digital music retailers isn’t the only thing getting people’s attention; YouTube claims that Jungkook’s accompanying music video for “Seven” is the biggest in the entire world.
A GLIMPSE OF SEVEN’S VISUALS
Seven delivers a visual extravaganza. The latest single allowed Jungkook to experiment not only with the kind of music but also with the storyline which follows the singer arguing with Han SoHee’s character and eventually convincing her to forgive him.
A subtle detail showed support for LGBTQ+ people right at the beginning. One can argue that the two are friends, having dinner but the low lighting and red roses point towards a romantic setting. Fans were happy to see how the song had acknowledged that relationships may be diverse and non-heteronormative.
The MV also had some parallels drawn from our favorites. For instance, the scene where the laundromat floods is similar to the scene between Jack and Rose when Titanic was sinking. The video showcases different calamities probably pointing out the disasters that every relationship goes through- beginning with an earthquake where the chandelier falls and ending with a flood.
As the single continues to top the charts, it is clear that Jungkook’s glory knows no bounds.
