Actor Kangana Ranaut wrapped up her portion in the upcoming Tamil film Chandramukhi 2 on Wednesday.
She received a grand send-off from the movie’s makers. Notably, this is her third Tamil film after ‘Dhaam Dhoom‘ in which she worked during the early stages of her career followed by ‘Thalaivi’ in 2021.
The team of Chandramukhi 2 made Kangana cut two cakes as she bid goodbye, and director P Vasu praised the actor for her humble nature. On the other hand, Kangana shared a post in which she raved about her co-star, Raghava Lawrence.
The first part of Chandramukhi was a remake of the Malayalam film ‘Manichitrathazhu’ and was also adapted in Hindi as Akshay Kumar’s starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. It featured Rajinikanth and Jyotika in key roles.
It is not known whether Chandramukhi 2 is going to be a continuation of Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi or is it going to tell a new story altogether. Earlier, it was revealed that Rajinikanth was approached for the sequel of the film, but the actor declined the offer due to his busy schedule.
In ‘Chandramukhi 2’, Kangana Ranaut will be seen as a renowned dancer in the king’s court known for her breathtaking beauty. The movie will characterize Raghava Lawrence in the person of Vettaiyan, the role performed by Rajinikanth in the first part.
Chandramukhi 2 also stars Lakshmi Menon and Vadivelu, Mahima Nambiar, Ravi Maria, and Subhiksha Krishnan in pivotal roles besides Kangana and Raghava. The movie backed by Lyca Productions is set for release later this year.
The film’s music is composed by MM Keeravani who was recently awarded the Golden Globe and Oscars for RRR. The other technicians include RD Rajasekar (cinematographer) and Thotta Tharani (art director).
Kangana Ranaut’s next project is Emergency which is a biopic on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She will share the screen with Anupam Kher, the late actor Satish Kaushik, and Milind Soman among others. The film is scheduled to release in 2024.
Meanwhile, Kangana also has the movie ‘Tejas’ in the pipeline, in which she will be seen in the role of an Indian Air Force pilot, along with ‘Noti Binodini.’
The pictures from the wrap-up bash have been surfacing on the internet in which Kangana can be seen in the majestic look of Chandramukhi.
Kangana can be seen wearing an orange saree along with heavy gold jewelry, looking no less than a royal queen. Even Raghava could be seen donned in the character of Vettaiyan with the team as they bid goodbye to the actress on the sets.
