21 ‘India’ MPs go for Manipur; they will spend two days in violence-affected areas and relief camps
A delegation of 21 MPs from constituent parties of the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (India) left for Manipur today i.e., on Saturday. They will go there and assess the ground situation. During the delegation’s two-day journey, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi urged that a retired Supreme Court judge investigate the violence that occurred. RJD leader Manoj Jha said’, Making peace is everyone’s priority. TR Balu, the head of the DMK, promised to visit the area to ascertain the exact location of the mistake that occurred.
While leaving for Manipur, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant said, “Manipur has been burning for the last 75 days. Atrocities and deaths against women in the state will only tarnish the image of the country. The government should have taken action in this situation.
We shall meet the people of Manipur, JDU MP Rajeev Ranjan Singh remarked. The state has been burning for several months and there is a need to restore peace. The Prime Minister is speaking on all issues except Manipur. To analyze the situation there, we spent time in Manipur for two days.

Opposition desists from the provoking situation in Manipur: BJP
Criticizing the visit of the opposition parties to Manipur, the BJP said that they should desist from worsening the situation in Manipur. The party alleged that after the ruckus in Parliament, the opposition is now trying to create a ruckus in the state. Former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said he had no problem with opposition leaders visiting the violence-hit Manipur, but they shouldn’t inflame the situation there. BJP MP Ravi Kishan taunted that he would like to go to Pakistan and China as well.
MP Ramkripal Yadav called the visit of opposition MPs a drama. He said that he kept running away from discussions in the House and is now trying to take advantage of the situation.

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs Anurag Thakur said, “The Manipur tour is a show-off by the opposition MPs. When he comes back from Manipur, I will request Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary to bring him to West Bengal. I want to ask Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary whether he agrees with the atrocities against women in Bengal, in Rajasthan where there are murders and crimes against women, the opposition did not go there.
