A source from Hindustan Times mentioned “According to what we heard Remo D’Souza was initially about to direct a web series based on dance which would have marked his debut on OTT, for the project actress Avneet Kaur was almost locked, while it was a struggle to hunt for the male lead which left the makers scratching their heads”.
The choreographer turned filmmaker Remo D’Souza wanted someone relatively fresh as his choice for the male protagonist while the studio backing the project was single-minded about bringing actor Ishaan Khatter on board, resulting in a stand-still, owing to this the project has been halted for a time being.
Meanwhile, Remo D’Souza drives toward another project a film to be taken over by National Film Award Winning actor Manoj Bajpayee, the film is expected to go on the floors in the first half of this year.
Remo D’Souza and Manoj Bajpayee have been in conversation about the film for a long time, Manoj Bajpayee has been on-board initially since day one
The source further added stating “This one is a special film for director Remo D’Souza”, as it is not a film based on dance but will be inspired by a true event, the film is at a very premature stage, the first meeting for the pre-production will take place this week”.
When the source reached out to Remo D’Souza, he denied the news about the digital series claiming it to be a false rumor, and further choose not to comment on directing Manoj Bajpayee.
