The health advisers have made a clear statement about the habit of moderate alcohol consumption, which in earlier studies was stated to be helpful, but in a very recent study, doctors are now saying that even less alcohol is harmful to the body.
In a recent study, it was found that there are risks of women dying prematurely with the consumption of about 25 grams of alcohol, which practically amounts to no more than 2 cocktails.
Men, on the other hand, have a risk of premature death with the consumption of about 45 grams of alcohol, which adds up to no more than 3 drinks.
Scientists have said that if one compares a group of alcohol drinkers to a group that does not drink alcohol, the group that does not drink alcohol will look healthier.
However, the researchers say that the recent study has statistics that show very little value in how alcohol benefits moderate drinkers. Thus, the study came out saying more or less alcohol harms the drinkers.
The doctors have pointed out that even red wine has harmful effects like cancers in the breast, esophagus, neck, and blood pressure.
Moderate Alcohol Consumption-Less Harm is not Harmless
The doctors have confirmed that, but what people generally misunderstand is that intaking a moderate amount of alcohol does not mean it would not harm at all; less harm is not harmless.
One needs to keep in mind that one cannot eliminate the risk of health hazards if one is consuming a moderate amount of alcohol.
Doctors have clearly stated that over the decades, the alcohol industry has done shrewd marketing and has thus roped people into believing the false benefits of having a moderate alcohol intake.
The numbers say that alcohol is one of the major risk factors for disease in developing countries, and in developed countries, alcohol is the third major risk factor for disease.
Alcohol is the cause of a lot of cancer types, like those of the esophagus, breast, neck, etc. Studies have pointed out that South Asia ranks third in cancer from alcohol, and next on the list with high rates in India.Â
The doctors have repeatedly shared that the recent consensus has shown that the proportion of moderate to heavy drinking varies because it depends on a lot of other factors like gender, age, amount consumed, etc.
Doctors are saying that no list or study tends to prove that moderate drinking is beneficial, the risk factor is invariably present no matter what amount you intake.
It has been proven a lot of times that moderate alcohol consumption is never very beneficial to health. It is the result of clever marketing that makes it look beneficial, but it is not.
Scientists and researchers have repeatedly said that less harm is not less harm; they have been pointing out continuously that consuming less alcohol does not eliminate the risk of having cancer or any other deadly diseases; it’s just that, in comparison with the drinkers’ group, the moderate drinkers look healthy.
Other than that, there is no study at all that shows that alcohol intake can benefit you in any way; it was harmful, it is harmful, and it will always be harmful no matter what amount one consumes.Â
