Prince Mohammad bin Salman is now the new prime minister of Saudi Arabia as he has been appointed by the Saudi king for the position.
On Tuesday the king of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz appointed Mohammad bin Salman his son as the prime minister of his kingdom which will delegate him the duties of representing his nation on foreign visits to different countries and also chairing the summit which will be held by the kingdom.
Alongside he also appointed his second son Prince Khalid as the defense minister of the kingdom, not only that he also appointed his other son Prince Abdulaziz Salman as the energy minister of the state.
The only positions that the king did not change are the Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the finance minister Mohammad al-Jaadan, and the investment minister Khalid-al-faalih.
The officials of the state stated that the HRH Crown Prince has already been supervising the main executive bodies of the state daily which lies in the duties assigned to him as a prime minister. These duties are ordered to him by the King himself.
The crown prince is also known as Mbs, he also was the defense minister of that state and also played the role of de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia.
They are known as the world’s largest exporter of the top oil and also a major ally of the United States in the middle east.
As Prince Salman is appointed as the Prime Minister, he will still be part of the cabinet meetings that he attends.
These changes have been made because the king is now 86 years old and has been hospitalized multiple times over the last two years since he was crowned as the king in 2015.
Prince Mohammad bin Salman, since he came to power in 2017, has changed the state radically and improved the economy which depends on oil, and also diversified the society by allowing women to drive and have power.
But also, he gained some backlash when a Saudi journalist named Jamal Khashoggi was killed in Istanbul in the year 2018 it also affected the relationship between the state and the US along with other western allies.
