Jana Sena Party president, Pawan Kalyan is going to meet the state Governor regarding the issue that the state government is ignoring the principles of democracy and tenets of the Constitution.
Sometimes I’m surprised to think that we are living in a different era. An era where the principles of democracy and the tenets of the Constitution are being unfollowed, says Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan expressed his dissatisfaction over the way the state government had handled his planned Jana Vani programme during a telephonic interview on October 17.
70 partymen released, 9 sent on remand
The government was successful in making our program fail. But, I am satisfied that 70 of my workers and leaders, who had been arrested on Saturday, were released, and only nine sent to remand.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan said he is on the way to Amaravati and will approach the Andhra Pradesh High Court for a legal solution to the problem so that all his partymen are released.
Partymen of JSP were arrested under IPC Section 307, but later the District Magistrate had scaled down the section 307 to IPC Section 326. The JSP president expressed his happiness over the decision of the District Magistrate.
The JSP president said they are trying to meet with Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan on the issue. This meeting will not be an ornate meeting. We have some serious issues on which we have to discuss with him to call his attention.
Talking about the attacks happened on the Ministers, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, it could have happened due to the provocation of YSRCP leaders.
He denounced the actions taken on his party persons by registering IPC Section 307 on them.
Kalyan accused YSRCP
Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that they can’t put the blame on us. It is a big failure of the system, if the government or police cannot protect the Ministers.
The JSP president said that almost all opposition party leaders, including the Left parties, and even TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu and Lok Satta chief Jaya Prakash Narayana have expressed their solidarity with me. I didn’t blame the police because they were only following the orders of the political leadership. Instead, political leadership should be ashamed of it.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan also alleged that the YSRCP was involved in increasing the hate among regions, sub-regions and castes with its decision on decentralisation and three capitals.
Kalyan said that Visakhapatnam is already a developed city. There is no need to take it to the next level and also not to name it as the executive capital. If the government really wants more development in the city, then there are many other ways, like repairing the roads that have been in bad condition for the last three years.
Kalyan later added that, since the formation of Andhra Pradesh, we are only talking about shifting capitals. Now, it’s time to stop all this debate and focus on the development of the state.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan also added that the state government would be insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi by not giving Amaravati its due because he had personally came and laid the foundation stone. PM Modi also allocated funds for its development.
“The irony is that those who are talking about decentralisation, their political party doesn’t have a democratic or decentralised structure,” said Mr. Pawan Kalyan.
