The quintessential quintuplets the movie sequel of anime had got back its place in top 10 most grossing anime movie. The movie had been #8 after closing in on its 10th weekend that was last week. The screening of the film started last Friday on 91 additional theaters in Japan.
The movie fetch around 28,673,740 yen which about US$219,000 from Friday to Sunday and earned a total of 2,156,699,320 yen which is around US$16.47 million.
The film launched in Japan on may 20, and had a time-limit of over 130 minutes.
The movie covers the finale of the anime story.
About the Anime:
The first season of the anime The Quintessential Quintuplets aired in 2019 directed by Satoshi Kuwabara and produced by animation production company known as Tezuka Productions.
The second season of the anime aired in 2021 directed by Kaori and produced by Bibury Animation Studios.
The Manga of The Quintessential Quintuplets was sequential in Weekly Shonen Magazine and was published under the Kodansha Comics label. Other than the anime the series has a puzzle-game and two visual novels, including the June released Eiga Gotoubun no Hanayome –Kimi to Sugoshita Itsutsu no Omoide.
Fuutarou Uesugi is a genius high school student, but had very tough life. He is reserved and reclusive in nature that had led him to be alone.
His father is a debt ridden and he forces his family to drag into it by paying his debt.
One day during his lunch break, Uesugi argues with a female transfer student who had claimed “his seat”, leading both of them to despise each other.
That same day, he is presented with a golden opportunity to clear his family’s debt by giving private tuition to wealthy family’s daughters, with a wage which is five times of market prices.
He accepts the proposal, but is frighten to find that the client, Itsuki Nakano, is the girl he confronted earlier.
After unfortunate trying to get back on Itsuki’s good side, Uesugi finds out that his problems don’t end there.
He got to know that Itsuki is actually a quintuplet, so in addition to her, there are more sisters with her and he has to tutor them all.
The quintuplet’s sister’s names are as follows:
Miku, Yotsuba, Nino, and Ichika who just had real threat of flunking, and wants nothing else from tutor.

Other movies like Kingdom II: Harukanaru Daiichi (Two Distant Lands), a sequel of Yasuhisa Hara’sKingdom manga, had fail to hold the position of #1 at the Japanese box office at being currently on #3 position on its third weekend.
The movie sold 192,000 tickets over the weekends, and collected 281,352,200 yen which is about US$2.15 million from Friday to Sunday.
In total the film had sold 2.06 million tickets and collected 2,986,804,100 yen which is about US$22.83 million until now.
The film premiered in Japan on July 15.
The next movie in list is Dragon Ball Super: Super Heroes had premiered in Japan on 11th June.
The Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the second anime movie of this franchise, which had failed to hold his position and dropped from #8 to #10 in its eighth weekend.
The film collection in the box office from Friday to Sunday was around 25,889,510 yen which is approximately US$197.700 million and grossed around 2,392,445,410 yen which is around US$ 18.27 million until now.
