Northwest parts of India may experience rain and hailstorm from January 23rd till 27th.

On Thursday, the minimum temperature remained normal in the city of Delhi and most places. Many parts of northwest India got some relief from the severe weather conditions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there will not be any severe cold wave conditions over north India now. But a western disturbance may affect the weather conditions in India starting on January 23rd.
The Weather Forecast
Under the influence of another western disturbance, there might be light to moderate rain and a hailstorm with winds gusting up to 50 kilometres per hour, from January 23 to 27 in northwest India, including Delhi. The peak days will be the 23rd and 24th of January.
The India Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts in different parts of northwest India, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Haryana.
The city of Delhi has not recorded any rainfall in this season of winter. This has been due to the lack of strong western disturbances in the months of November and December.
Records
A minimum of 5.6 degrees Celcius was recorded by the Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi’s primary weather station. On Wednesday, the national capital witnessed its second cold wave of this month, with the temperature at 2.6 degrees Celcius. Other than this, 2.4 degrees Celsius were recorded on Tuesday and 1.4 degrees on Monday.
A yellow alert was issued by the IMD in the national capital region for six days. It was speculated that in the first three days, the place will experience a cold wave, while during the next three days, it will experience dense fog.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi has now witnessed the coldest wave days in January in at least 12 days. The city has also logged over 50 hours of extreme fog this month. It is the most since the year 2019.
Last year, the city of Delhi recorded 82.2 mm of rainfall in January. It was the highest in January since 1901.
Weather Impact on Railways
According to Northern Railways officials, 13 trains are running late in the Northern Railway region due to fog.
