- Vladimir Putin warned the West on Saturday that imposing a no-fly zone over Ukraine would lead to a bigger conflict, as his forces resumed an advance against the crucial city of Mariupol.
Presidents Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine and Joe Biden of the United States met today to address the Russia-Ukraine conflict, including financial assistance and sanctions against Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the other hand, said that Western sanctions and the imposition of a no-fly zone amounted to a military response, as his militaries resumed their offensive against the key Ukrainian city of Mariupol after a ceasefire that was supposed to allow civilians to flee failed to materialize. A new attempt at evacuating the 400,000 stranded inhabitants will be made today.
Approximately 11,000 Russian troops were killed in the fighting, according to Ukraine.
