One of the best young actresses to have entered the Indian film industry is Sara Ali Khan. Sara has had a five-year acting career and has been in well-liked movies including Kedarnath, Simba, and Atrangi Re. There have been been a few failures, but each one has helped the actress grow as a performer.
At every point of her career, she has grown as a performer and a person, and she now feels quite confident in both. The actress is getting ready for the digital-only release of her forthcoming movie, Gaslight.
The movie is set to release on this 31st March 2024 with Sara Ali Khan, Chitrangada Singh, and Vikrant Massey as lead actors. It is a mystery and thriller film directed by Pavan Kriplani and produced by Ramesh Taurani and Akshai Puri.
In one of her interviews, she was questioned whether she intentionally arranges her release schedule and if it makes her feel uneasy when one of her movies doesn’t come out for a while; to which she replied “Every day I long for the big screen. But when Atrangi Re was launched on Hotstar and I received so much praise and affection from the media and the public, I genuinely realized that; Even at the beginning, I felt it and still do that I miss the theatres.
Not that I don’t, really. But, following Atrangi Re’s reaction, I understood that if your tale is authentic and your acting is sincere, it would affect the audience’s heart and mind. Of course, I started acting in theatres, and I’m now waiting, hopefully soon. I’ll adore that.
Yet I did not make this choice. The producer makes the choice. And I discovered very early in life that it is pointless to consider a choice over which you have no control. I thus don’t consider it. If the substance is strong, I believe it will be what sells when it comes to content. The nature of the content, in my opinion, matters more than the platform from which it is received.”
Sara Ali Khan Also Discusses the Benefits of Digital Film Release
Sara Ali Khan discussed the benefits of a digital release and how the fact that the movie is coming out digitally allows them to take some creative licenses that they wouldn’t have been allowed to do if the movie was released in theatres.
Perhaps we took a few artistic licenses with Gaslight since we knew it would air on pay television, she said. I believe that Pavan (Kriplani) sir may have had a vision in which he believed that we would be able to go perhaps a little darker, more authentic, and grungier since that is the type of stuff that is taken rather well on OTT. People are willing to see real-life, exciting content.
In addition to Gaslight, Sara Ali Khan’s future movies include Murder Mubarak, Ae Watan Mere Watan, the follow-up to Laxman Utetkar’s movie with Vicky Kaushal, and Ae Watan Mere Watan.
The trailer of ‘Gaslight’ has garnered a lot of attention for its plot. A girl, her stepmother, her lover, her father, a police officer, a doctor, and other characters are all crucial to this gripping murder mystery. The mystery revolves around a girl named Misha who visits her estranged father on the royal family estate after a 15-year absence, she discovers that he has vanished.
