Arunachal Pradesh government has ordered the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of police to investigate the leak of the Class VIII state board exam question paper.Â
On February 27, Chief Minister Pema Khandu had expressed “disgust and exasperation” over the report of paper leakage during the state board examination of class VIII that was recently held. Grinding no words in criticizing the involved ones, he said that the crime committed was against an entire generation of future state citizens.Â
Khandu said that he has taken the case seriously and administered the chief secretary to hand the case over to SIC for the investigation, and no one found involved will be spared. He had been told that few arrests had been made, but he wanted to ensure that no single person involved should go scot-free.Â
The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, while speaking at a function at the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) at Gaga in Kurung Kumey district, said that he felt terrible, on the one hand, they are providing everything to uplift the status of education in the state. Still, the few ill-intended individuals throw water over their tireless efforts.
He also assured that the young students are the state’s future, and he will take whatever action is required to make Arunachal a better place. He will not hesitate to take action, no matter what or who.Â
Emphasizing that the government’s focus is on quality education, he informed that government schools’ old and worn infrastructure are being overhauled. The shortage of subject teachers is being met through the state public service commission and in-service training of government teachers.Â
“As a pilot project, we will completely rebuild sixty government schools with completely new infrastructure, one each in the sixty assembly constituencies of Arunachal,” he informed.Â
He, however, pointed out that quality education can’t be achieved through infrastructure development or depending solely on the government. He said that quality education could only be achieved through community participation.Â
Khandu explained, “Just as the community of Gaga and Nyapin circle have voluntarily contributed in the establishment and functioning of the VKV school here, active participation of community members in the management of schools is required to bring in quality education.”Â
Lauding the area’s people for the collective decision to establish a VKV at Gaga, he said the fruits of this decision would be reaped by the people themselves soon.Â
