If you aren’t glued to your screens watching the Made in Heaven season 2, and obsessing over Tara Khanna’s impeccable styling, are you even having a good weekend at all? Sobhita Dhulipala is currently the talk of the town, rendering her character with outfits eclectically styled by the famed Bhawna Sharma, who worked seamlessly with a pride of effortless directorial of each episode, that finishes with a beautiful portrait of handpicked couture maestros’ creation.
The charm and the hook of this season was without a doubt Tara khanna, who maintains her poise through the tumultuous divorce of hers. Her character is graced with the palettes of composure and shades that are characters in themselves.
The season opens with running parallels and reaping of a deeply rooted societal issue, which is a sight observed largely during the new season, the first episode in itself is a breath of fresh designer air, marking Sabyasachi Mukherji’s acting debut and Tara donning the infamous multi-embroidered body-con dress. Along with that, Tara also wears Mukherji’s black saree paired with a pink blouse for the wedding. While these are head turners, her approach to perfectly cinched trousers and sultry tops is in contrast to Jazz’s statement of “ we don’t do fashion in this office.” Her approach to her professional life is quite complementary to how she drapes and emotes her catharsis in her personal life.
On the forefront of her divorce, she is seen sporting subtle and easy to decode kurtas and it is only when she has a change of heart is she seen in a black monochrome ensemble of persistence, on another hand when she isn’t putting up an act of resistance against her husband you find her in perfectly crafted silk kaftans as sleepwear, as opposed to Faiza who is found in rather roomy or lax clothing. With multiple twists in the Khanna family, one such grave event has Tara comforting her mother in law, spotted in a light pink Torani India Saree, accessorized with a Bulgari Serpenti watch and a green Bulgari Forever Shoulder bag that she clutches for her own comfort denoting in where her attachment lies and her inability to be a part of the commune she worked her way up for.
We then go on to see a vivid French Riviera episodic format of a celebrity wedding, that is rather relaxed and fun to watch with Khanna in a tailor made navy shirt, followed by yet another sultry and well carried no collared pink satin shirt. But unlike the hues of a fresh summery nice, certain characters try to blend in while Tara maintains her rugged looks with a suede brick red dress at the beach and the grey metallic striped saree with an impeccable blouse for the sangeet. And just when you think you’ve seen enough, here comes the Manish Malhotra signature golden and pastel combination saree for the closing.
A special mention for two of the most riveting of looks, were definitely the draped Tarun Tahiliani Black saree with the printed gold blouse and the sublime Raw mango saree that perfects a maroon blouse that is theatrical as tara walks down casually through the aquamarine walls.
Sure a wedding planner would definitely sport sarees of various kind but the creators of this series have done marginal work for a seamless blend of Fashion, drama , theatrics and the conventional norms of filmmaking. The intrinsic play of hues of green and tranquil stripes in this season is a marriage made in heaven and so is the character Tara Khanna portrayed by Dhulipala.
