After the release of Neha Kakkar’s ‘O Sajna’, a remake of Falguni Pathak’s ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’, both singers stabbed each other on social media.
Recently, a new Indian pop song, ‘O Sajna’, has been released earlier last week. This song is the remake version of the 1999’s superhit and an iconic song, ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’. That original version was sung by Dandiya Queen Falguni Pathak and even today people like to listen to that song. The remake version is sung by Neha Kakkar, composed by Tanishk Bagchi, and featured Dhanashree Verma and Priyank Sharma along with Neha Kakkar.
How did Falguni Pathak react on recreated version?
52 years old ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’s famous Singer showed her disappointment with this reimagined version. On her social media post, she said, “What else could have I done? I could not take legal action. I was overwhelmed to see so many people write on social media that they love my music, and they didn’t like this version.”
After that in an interview with the Times of India, The original song’s singer revealed her first reaction to Kakkar’s song. She said, “I got to know about the remixed version three-four days back. First reaction was not good. I was like, mujhe bas ulti aani baaki thi, aisa ho gaya tha.”
“Video aur picturisation mein jo innocence thi, uska pura satyanash kiya hai iss gaane mein. Remixes are happening but do it decently. If you want to reach out to the younger generation, change the rhythm of the song, but don’t make it cheap,” she added.
Continuing the interview, further, she said, “Don’t change the originality of the song. I don’t think I need to do anything; my fans are taking action against the song. I am just sharing the stories. Why should I keep quiet when they are supporting me, main Kaise chup baithun.”
In another interview with the Pinkvilla, Pathak said, “I wish I could but the rights are not with me.” It means she would have any right to a song, otherwise, she would take legal action too.
Fans’ Reaction
Not only Singer Pathak but her Fans are also criticizing and trolling Kakkar for ruining the innocence and beauty of the original track. Falguni Pathak also shared a screenshot of the reaction of her fans on Instagram, in which it can be seen how the fans are trolling Neha Kakkar and praising Falguni Pathak.
One Twitterati showed his reaction by writing, “Dear Neha Kakkar, you have just ruined our childhood. You can’t even imagine our love for Falguni and craziness for her songs. I am not against remixes but it’s high time you need to understand that not all songs are meant for the remix.”
Neha Kakkar’s counterattack
Amidst all the reactions, Kakkar shared two cryptic notes on her Instagram stories. In a first note, she said, “If talking in such a manner, saying such bad things about me, abusing me makes them feel good and if they think it will ruin my day. Then I’m sorry to inform them that I’m too blessed to have bad days. This God’s child is always happy because God himself/herself is keeping me happy.”
Then in the second post of the Bollywood Singer on her Instagram story, she said, “And for those who’re sooo Unhappy seeing me HAPPY and SUCCESSFUL. I feel sorry for them. Bechara. Plz, keep commenting. I won’t even delete them. Coz I know and Everybody knows What NEHA KAKKAR Is!!”
Neha did not stop at these story posts. Further, she wrote in her Instagram post too. She said, “How I feel today.. Very few people in the world get what I have received in life. That too at such a young age. This kind of Fame, Love, Countless Super Hit Songs, Super Duper Hit TV Shows, World Tours, Fans from Little Kids to 80-90 years old people, and What Not!! You know why I got all this because of my Talent, Hard Work, Passion, and Positivity.”
Earlier also Neha Kakkar sang Falguni’s song
It is worth noting that even two years back, Neha Kakkar had sung another famous song of Falguni Pathak, ‘Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi’ under the banner of the T-Series. The recreated new version collected lots of popularity like the original version and fans like it as well. Also, see Indian pop culture diminished over the years
