A professor from St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata was forced to quit because of her Instagram photos, alleged to be sexually explicit.

A former assistant English professor at St. Xavier’s University was recently ‘forced’ to quit because of her ‘inappropriate’ Instagram posts.
Apparently, the father of a first-year male undergraduate at the university saw his son looking at the professor’s photos, where she was dressed in a bikini.
The father felt disgusted at the thought of his 18-year-old son looking at his professor’s photos which were ‘objectionable’, and ‘bordered on nudity.’
It so happened that on 7th October, she received a call from the vice chancellor’s office. She was demanded to be present in his office for a meeting with the VC himself at 4 p.m. that very day. The cause of the meeting was unknown to her.
When she reached, she saw seven people in the office of whom she knew only three. There were two men and the rest were women.
During the meeting, her photos which caused a problem were circulated around in the room and she was asked if they were actually her photos. The former professor said she posted them on her story, 2 months before joining the university.
Since she posted them on her private story, which means only her followers can view them, and that too for not more than 24 hours as part of the one-day story rule, no one should have had access to it now. She says it’s a mystery to her as to how the student or anyone could see her photo now unless someone took a screenshot or hacked into her account.
She also filed a complaint against the university saying that her personal space was violated and the way they were circulating her private photos without her consent was nothing but sexual harassment. She said for an hour she was ‘slut-shamed’ and ‘embarrassed’ by the faculty.
