According to some media reports, the names of a few Big Boss 16 contestants have been confirmed for the media.
The extremely popular reality show, broadcasted on Colors TV every year has been quite popular among the fans. Since it is hosted by the Bollywood legend Salman Khan, the show has garnered a good reputation among entertainment critics. Yet, this year the show seems to be struggling with attracting enough eyeballs.
The dwindling view rates of the Big Boss season 16 official trailer and sneak peek video have shocked everyone. This is a testimony to the fact that the show Big Boss might have lost its charm. After all, there hasn’t been much buzz about it.
Who are the ‘lucky’ selected contestants of Big Boss 16?
While a few popular celebrities’ names were doing rounds in the media, some of those names have been confirmed by the PR heads of the show. The first confirmed list of participants includes a host of television and reality stars along with runner-ups from the beauty pageants.
The popular actresses are Tina Dutt from the hit soap drama Uttaran, Shivin Narang from the newly released show Beyhadh 2, and Shalin Bhanot from popular shows like MTV Roadies and ZEE TV’s Naagin. Moreover, to spice things up, the former Miss India runner-up Manya Singh has also been confirmed as a competitive contestant on the show Big Boss.
The other contestants
The media has been informed that a lot of contestants are at different levels of confirmation for their participation in the show Big Boss. For instance, the infamous actors like Sreejita De from the show Uttaran will star along with her co-actress Tina Dutt. Moreover, Kanika Mann from the movie Daana Pani, Prakruti Mishra from the cute Odia sitcom Bitti Business Walli and Sumbul Touqueer from the lead show Image will also be part of the upcoming reality show.
Some sources have reported that the controversial stand-up comedian Munwar Faruqui, who was sent to jail after complaints were lodged against him for derogatory remarks against Hindus, can also be part of the show Big Boss. Though it is quite surprising given that he couldn’t be a part of another reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 12 which is hosted by Rohit Shetty. The reports also claim that he is in two minds now about his participation in another controversial show.
Why are so many contracts pending?
Well, the inside sources have let the word out that the rest of the contracts with the contestants will be finalized soon. They have been hanging out because of some petty issues like monetary benefits, the stay periods, etc. Once the contracts have been confirmed, the contestants will begin shooting for the promos of Big Boss and also prepare for their stay in the house.
As several fan theories have been doing rounds on social media about the presence of Miss India runner-up Manya Singh in the house, the netizens are excited to see a fresh and relatable character in the star-studded house. She has been part of some commercials and just like any other celebrity, had her fair share of trolls. The people criticized her books and weak English. On the other hand, the fact that she came from a humble background and her dad was an auto-rickshaw driver, many netizens are praising her for her guts as well.
The Big Boss Announcement
When the trailer was dropped on all the social media platforms, it immediately became a sensation because Salma Khan claimed in the promo that there will be no rules inside the house in this season of Big Boss.
Many netizens have taken a dig at this, calling the no-rule house, the ‘Kangana Ranaut Lock Up Effect’. Moreover, there have been claims that the contestants might come ‘clean’ in the show about their apparent scandals in the media. For example, Sajid Khan and Raj Kundra can star in the show to talk about the #MeToo accusations on them.
Moreover, there are rumors that the social media stars like Just Sul and Abdu Rozik might also participate briefly in the show. However, Divyanka Tripathi and Vivian Dsena have taken to Twitter to announce that they are not part of Big Boss Season 16, and rumors about their participation are simply false.
