In the past couple years, there has been an ever-growing phenomenon in the world of children’s literature & adults’ fantasies ,this phenomenon is Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling’s fantasy series of novels about a young wizard and his years at “Hogwarts School of Wizarding and Witchcraft,” has become one of the most successful children’s book series of all time. Before reading any of the eight novels, one may find it hard to believe that a children’s novel may be so entertaining. But once one starts reading any of the books, it is plain to see why these books are so popular. WHY HARRY POTTER SO FAMOUS ? PLOT OF NOVELS
Harry Potter is a series of fantasy novels written by British author J K Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the adolescent wizard Harry Potter, together with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and his friends from Hogwarts School. The central story is about Harry’s struggle against the evil wizard Lord Voldemort who seeks to conquer the wizard world and subjugate non-magical people (Muggles) to his rule. This I believe, is one of the biggest reasons why these books have been such a success, the author knows how to keep the story going at all times in order to maintain the reader’s attention. Another factor which I believe has led to the novel’s success is that while reading, the reader wishes that they could live in this fantasy world created by Rowling where life is anything but ordinary. The novels make the reader somewhat desire a life like the one led by the characters of the novels, like going to a school to learn wizarding, always having extraordinary things happen and just being at Hogwarts seems like an unequalled joy for some. These novels have the ability to reignite the long-lost imaginations of adults, and keep the imaginations of children strong. According to Rowling, one of the major themes in the books is death. She once stated, “My books are largely about death. They open with the death of Harry’s parents. There is Voldemort’s obsession with conquering death and his quest for immortality at any price, the goal of anyone with magic. Harry taught us to never give up. He destroyed the horcrux within himself, and then came back from the dead to kill Voldemort. Harry endured so much in the series, and he persevered through all of it. He showed us that you can push through even the hardest times, bounce back and succeed. Each & every character of Movie or Novel is inspired by something for Rowling and gives us motivation too whether it is Neville, Hermione, Ron, Professor Snape, Luna, Sirius and so on. The Warner Bros Movies based on this novel has given it more attention and love no doubt. The Movies has raised many dreams, desires, and even more mysterious facts in viewers mind that even viewers want to know about each and every story related to harry potter in depth like origin of Voldemort, the four houses of Hogwarts , it’s relation to fantastic beast movies, about black and potter families and much more. People have started making explanation videos , fan made pages, games, short movies, artifacts related to Harry Potter.

According to a survey, it is the most influential book of our generation, even more than the Bible. It’s even been shown to increase tolerance in readers, meaning that it is not only a cultural symbol but also a social weapon. The Harry Potter series is a phenomenon because it tells a story that millions of people loved, and it introduced the world to an enormous and magical world that millions of people have dreamed of escaping into. That’s why we’re still talking about these books 20 years later, and that’s why all of this matters. Even at present we are waiting for the Harry Potter & The Cursed Child Movie by Warner Bros with the same actors whom we love so much.
