Birbhum (west Bengal): the central bureau of investigation arrested TMC leader Anubrata Mondal today in the cattle smuggling case. After the arrest, CBI took him for a medical test, and then the further procedure would be done.
From the 5th of August, CBI was giving summons to Anubrata but he was not responding to it and was not cooperating with the CBI for the investigation and not attending interrogation for investigation. till now CBI had issued 10 summoned to him but after that, he was not present and skipped the interrogation.
The leader was asked to present in front of CBI on 8thofAugust but he didn’t. So in the morning, CBI conducted the raid at his residence in Bolpur in the Birbhum district.
The CBI arrested a BSF commandant on September 21, 2020, in connection with a cattle smuggling case, as they were caught at the indo- Bangladesh border while smuggling the cattle. This Anubrata Mondal name came in this case and after the case was been transferred to CBI and while investigation he was been arrested.
As this is the second TMC leader arrested by central agencies before Partha Chatterjee was arrested by the enforcement directorate in a teacher recruitment scam and now Anubrata Mondal also got arrested in this smuggling case.
In this case, Subendhu Adhikari made a statement while talking to the press that the Mamta government is going to fall soon and attacked the government by giving a statement.
