On June 23, stills for The Uncanny Counter 2, which will premiere on July 29 (Saturday), were published. Yoo In Soo, who played Na Jeok Bong, the new face of the Counters, was changed into a young, naive country kid with a lovely grin in the first still.
The drama follows Counters, who work in a noodle cafe during the day and fight demons at night. Each member is equipped with flaming skills and performs a particular technique that helps them to capture the demons who are meant to destroy the earth.
Yoo In Soo (“All of Us are Dead” fame) as Na Jeok Bong:
The new stills feature Na Jeok Bong (Yoo In Soo) in a pollution-free South Korean countryside. His modest smile and unusual hairstyle almost give him the appearance of a ‘village idiot,’ yet no one understands how he is also endowed with extraordinary abilities. His talent has yet to be found because he is a hardworking farm lad.
He is shown cleaning cow excrement with a pleasant face since he loves cows and wants to take good care of them. People are wondering how he will help the Counters and how he will vanquish all the demons alongside the others.
The Uncanny Counter 2:
Previously, they unveiled Counters and Demons posters depicting the new cast members who turn into their characters. As the new demons, Kang Ki Young plays Pil Gwang, Kim Hieora plays Gelli, and Kim Hyun Wook plays Wong.
The demon one poster, Jo Byung Gyu as Somun, Yoo Jun Sang as Gamo Tak, Kim Sejeong as Dohana, Yeom Hye Ran as Choo Mae Ok, Ahn Seok Hwan as Choi Jang Mul, and Counter Yoo In Soo as Jeok Bong as a novice are all represented in battle preparation. The actors are incredibly excellent, and audiences are anxious to witness the legendary conflict between good and evil. The demons offer an exciting journey.
The Previous Season:
It is based on Jang Yi’s Daum webtoon Amazing Rumour, it follows So Mun, a high school student with a disability, who is recruited to join the Counters, an organisation of paranormal hunters that search for and combat evil spirits who escape from the afterlife to prey on humans.
From November 28, 2020, until January 24, 2021, the first season aired on OCN, with 16 episodes running every Saturday and Sunday at 22.30 (KST). Following their television airing, each episode was published on Netflix in South Korea and globally. The series was just renewed for a second season, which will begin airing on tvN on Saturdays and Sundays beginning July 29, 2024.
In the mythical city of Jungjin, a group of four demon-hunters known as the Counters are tasked with finding and banishing wicked spirits (akgwi) who escape from the afterlife to attain immortality. These wicked spirits take possession of local human hosts who have committed murder or have a strong desire to murder, stimulating their hosts’ drive to kill and eat the victim’s spirit.
The Counters were in comas until a partnering spirit from Yung, the boundary between the afterlife and the realm of the living, possessed them and bestowed upon them perfectly healthy bodies and consciousness, as well as extraordinary power and supernatural talents.
Ga Mo-tak (Yoo Jun-sang), Do Ha-na (Kim Se-Jeong), and Choo Mae-ok (Yeom Hye-ran) are three of the Counters who work as waiters at Eonni’s Noodles, the noodle shop where they hide.
As soon as Wi-gen took possession of him, the ignorant Mun began to notice strange changes in his physique and began to see Wi-gen in his nightmares. Soon after, Mun discovers the answers in Eonni’s Noodles, and as the late Cheol-joong’s replacement, he embarks on a fascinating voyage of combating bloodthirsty demons, reconciling with his history, and finding the dark truth behind a huge reconstruction project in Jungjin.
Season 2 premieres on July 29, 2024, on tvN on Saturday and Sunday.
