Elon Musk is starting his week strong with his “notorious activities”, after immersing himself in tweeting all his outlandish sayings and arguably intrusive thoughts. His weekend itinerary consisted of the following:
- Mocking a US senator
- Saying no to John Legere, ex-CEO of T-Mobile.
- Reviewing code on Twitter, and much more.
The world’s wealthiest man has assumed the role of “Twitter mogul,” and he has some fresh newsworthy tweets.
Elon Musk, the richest man on the planet and the new CEO of Twitter, is now tweeting at such a frenetic pace that we journos are battling to keep up. Musk has been unusually prolific on Twitter recently, likely whiling away time and taking advantage of the slower weekend biz at his many companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter. tweeting and replying to make the days go just a little faster. Not everything he says is worth discussing, but given Musk’s prestige and everything happening on Twitter, some of it is.
So, to make your life a tad easier, we’ve put together a brief précis of Musk’s comical online zeal.
Elon Musk and US Senator Ed Markey cross swords
Twitter has devolved into pandemonium in recent days as its current owner, Elon Musk, pursues his new manna from heaven: Twitter Blue, the platform’s now-updated paid user subscription. New Twitter Blue subscriptions were put on hold on Friday, just a few days after the updated program went public on November 9. The platform’s remaining advertisers were not thrilled with the hoaxes that were using well-known brands and public figures as their aliases.
Due to the company now selling Blue Ticks of Verified for $8, there is still a lot of buzz on Twitter about pastiche and identity fraud. Someone impersonated US Senator ED Markey‘s account a few days ago, prompting Markey to demand clarification from Elon Musk. It is now evident how much accountability Markey can demand of Musk in his capacity as a US government representative. However, the odds are very slim. So, instead of replying privately, Musk opted to respond openly on Twitter.
It’s worth noting that Musk is the world’s richest person and has extensive connections. You can bet your life that he’s least bothered about getting a letter from a senator. And that is exactly what his tweets convey. Just a few days ago, Elon Musk’s lawyer allegedly said at the Twitter office that Musk wasn’t fazed by government authorities as the FTC.
“Elon sends rockets into space, he’s not afraid of the FTC.”

Elon Musk: part-time code reviewer on Twitter
Elon Musk is now investigating Twitter’s speed on Android after firing over 5,500 employees and nearly all of its contractors. And he is concerned because it is slow on Android phones in poorer countries, despite the fact that he has laid off the majority of Twitter employees in these regions of the world (in India, around 90% of Twitter staff has been let go) and has only about 3,700 employees left.
On weekend, Musk tweeted an apology, stating the reason for Twitter being so slow and promising a new feature update. His tweet was “fact-checked” by a current Twitter engineer, Eric Frohnhoefer, who tweeted that he’s worked for Twitter for Android for 6 years and could tell this was wrong. This response from his employee grabbed Musk’s attention, to which he promptly responded, asking for numbers.
The Big Man’s response must have moved Eric because he proceeded to explain in great detail what he did for a living, tweeting the specifics within the 280-character limit. It begins, “We have done a lot of work to improve performance…” and the rest of their conversation you can find in the tweet above.
Elon Musk shoots down John Legere’s proposal
Many people see a chance with Elon Musk being so active on Twitter and discussing the company’s problems. Since Musk took control of Twitter, there have been a number of tweets from users begging for a position there. The most recent comes from former T-Mobile CEO John Legere. Legere offered his services to Twitter over the weekend in the Tweet below.
Judging by how many emojis were used in the tweet, it is difficult to tell if this was intended as a joke or a serious proposal. The tone used by Legre could have meant anything. In any case, Musk responded with a simple “No,” and the conversation concludes with a look into why Elon Musk shot John Legere down, simply stating that Twitter, at its core, is a software and servers company that requires a technologist to meet the social media platform’s ever-changing needs.
Everyone can agree, without a shadow of a doubt, that Elon Musk had a busy weekend.
