On Sunday afternoon, an Army man was killed in a dispute over constructing a temporary road in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district.
Ramkumar Yadav (40), nicknamed Babloo, was serving at the Army headquarters in the national capital when he was killed. On leave, he went to his parent’s house.

Panchayat Meeting
According to a story published by The Indian Express, a panchayat meeting was held on Sunday morning to discuss the matter. “The panchayat arranged a ceasefire between the two groups,” the article reported Baghpat SP Neeraj Kumar Jadaun as saying.
“However, Sharma subsequently invited Ramkumar to accompany him home, where he was kept hostage and shot dead.”Â
Another Incident
In another incident, a woman allegedly murdered her minor daughter in the Chaubeypur area of Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district, reportedly after she learned that the latter was in a relationship with a local man belonging to a different caste — has become pregnant.
The mother-son duo and the now-deceased minor’s alleged lover were arrested by the police on Friday last week. The son of the woman in question abetted the crime.
Yet another case On December 6, a 47-year-old man was detained in Rajgurunagar, Maharashtra’s Pune district, for reportedly killing his 80-year-old father by breaking his head with a grinding stone.
According to accounts, Shekhar Borhaade, the arrestee, committed the act after learning that his father, Shankar Rambhau Borhaade, planned to remarry.
