Earlier expected to run between New Delhi and Jaipur
Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat express was earlier expected to run between the national capital of Delhi and the state capital Jaipur, as the last destination. However, later it came to light that the route would be from New Delhi to Ajmer, with Jaipur as a halt station on the route. Other halt stations on its route will be Alwar and Gurugram. The travelling time from New Delhi to Jaipur would soon be reduced to merely four hours and ten minutes with the launch of the express train.
Proposed route and timings
The first new-age train in Rajasthan is proposed to function six days a week, running at an average speed of 72.74 kmph. The proposed days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Therefore, all days of the week except Wednesday.
The Indian Railways will run the train from New Delhi to Ajmer, halting at the Alwar Railway Station. Gurugram Railway Station, and Jaipur Railway station on the way. Its proposed departure time will be 6:10 AM from Ajmer Railway Station and arrival time will be 12:15 PM in New Delhi, taking a total of six hours and five minutes to complete its journey, it will significantly reduce travelling time between all of these stations and will come as a welcome relief for the travellers.
Later the same day, Vande Bharat Express will begin its journey from New Delhi at 6:10 PM, covering the distance to Jaipur Railway Station in merely four hours and ten minutes, reaching Ajmer at 12:15 AM.
Vande Bharat was redesigned for this route
The express train has undergone a thorough redesign to be suitable for this specific route in Rajasthan. The reason for this was the height of the electrical wires on this route. Due to the regular plying of double-decker trains on the route, the wires are built a lot higher than usual. In spite of this, the production of the new build of the train was completed well within time, which is a plausible feat, the railway minister said. The Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Perambur, Chennai designs the Vande Bharat Express under the Make-in-India initiative. Recently, the Vande Bharat Train completed four years of its launch in India.
