Directors Pushkar and Gayetri confirmed the shoot completion of Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan starrer “Vikram and Vedha” yesterday.
The movie is an action-packed crime thriller. The story is about a constant chase between a police officer, Vikram (Saif), and a gangster, Vedha (Hrithik). Roshan stated that playing a villain was a completely new arena for him. He said, “ Becoming Vedha was unlike anything I’ve ever done before. I had to break the mold of being the ‘hero’ and step into completely unexplored territory as an actor…”
“…The journey felt like I was graduating. My relentless directors Pushkar & Gayatri kept me on a treadmill, silently motivating me to push boundaries.” added the 48-year-old star. Roshan also thanked his co-stars Said and Yogita Bihani for helping him in his performance.https://‘Vikram Vedha’ completes production; cast and directors excited for the release

Folklore inspiration of ‘Vikram Vedha’
The story of the movie is inspired by the Indian folklore ‘Vikram Betal’ also known as ‘Baital Pachisi’.
It is the story of the brave King Vikram and the wise ghost Betal whom the captures. The ghost, as a captive states a bet that if the king can answer the moral of a story he narrates, then the ghost will go with the king. Unfortunately, the king never answered the Betal correctly and he escaped.
One of the most iconic images of the lore is King Vikram carrying Betal on his shoulders.
