Rao is trying to make room for his party in Maharashtra. In December, Telangana Rashtra Samithi After changing its name to BRS, it is targeting Telangana’s border areas, which will help it gain ground in the state.
For the past three months, Rao has visited three important cities in Marathwada and Vidarbha namely Aurangabad, Nandid and Nagpur. He asked the farmers to help Maharashtra establish a farmers’ government by supporting Telangana’s governance model.
BRS tried to connect with the farmers in Maharashtra with the slogan “Ab ki baar, kisan hangs” (this time agriculture government), alarming Congress and Nationalist Congress. When NCP leader Ajit Pawar said at a party meeting last week that they couldn’t ignore the BRS and Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, that was clear given the damage the VBA had done to the Congress-NCP party’s vision in the previous state. NCP leader Bhagirath Bhalke will join BRS on 27th June after a tough race against the Bharatiya Janata Party in May 2021.
