The DCP identifies accused in a murder case, as Zeeba Qureshi (the wife), Shoaib (the lover), and Vinit Goswami (the contract killer). The victim (Zeeba’s husband) was Moinuddin Qureshi.
A woman allegedly hired a contract killer and paid him ₹6 lack for killing her husband, to who she has been married for the past 25 years. The reason for her taking such a step was so that she could live with her 29-year-old lover who she met on Facebook about 2 years ago.
Police arrested 3 accused in the murder case that was reported on May 17th. Shweta Chauhan who is the Deputy Commissioner of Police identifies the accused as Zeeba Qureshi (the wife), Shoaib (the lover), and Vinit Goswami (the contract killer). The victim (Zeeba’s husband) was Moinuddin Qureshi. The victim owned the workshop in Darya Ganj where he was shot dead on May 17th around 10:00 PM. Both Shoaib and Vinit came on a bike and shot him and fled the scene.
The case was reported to the police by Qureshi’s brother Raknuddin. The investigation involved checking over 500 videos of CCTV footage from the area, the police examined more than 100 people that were present in the area during the time shooting took place. From the CCTV footage, some were identified as suspects and technical surveillance was launched against them which resulted in their arrest on Thursday.
The DCP revealed that during her interrogation with the accused (Zeeba) She revealed that her husband used to drink alcohol a lot and used to spend his time flying kites. She told the DCP that she married Qureshi when she was a teenager.
The couple has 2 sons and a daughter together. She Further explained her desire to end this marriage as she has met Shoaib on Facebook 2 years prior and they both started meeting each other. Zeeba wanted to get married to Shoaib, but to do so she first had to get out of her marriage with Shoaib.
When Zeeba explained her interest to get married to Shoaib, he asked Vinit Goswami who is an alleged contract killer to murder Qureshi for a sum of ₹6 lakh.
