On October 14, 2022, Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane aka Hagrid from the Harry Potter series passed away at the age of 72.
Anthony Robert McMillan OBE more commonly known as Robert Coltrane and loved as Rubeus Hagrid from Harry potter passed away in a hospital in Scotland on 14 October 2022.

Scottish actor Robbie is best remembered as a loving half-giant and half-human. The actor gained fame not from Harry Potter but from his series called Cracker. The series Cracker played from 1992 to 1996, where he played the role of a crime-solving psychologist.
For his performance on the show, he won the best actor award at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) for 3 straight years.
Later in 2000, he found worldwide fame from the renowned bestseller Harry Potter Movie Series by JK Rowling, where he played a role of a gentle loving half-human half-giant named Rubeus Hagrid. Who was a mentor and a friend to Hermoine, Ron, and Harry Potter the Boy Wizard. The series went from 2000 to 2011 with eight parts and Robbie stole the show even in the few frames and scenes he came.
A few other roles that made him more loved than he already was, Were Russian crime Boss in James Bond’s Golden Eye (1995), The world is Not Enough (1999), Brave (2012), and the series National Treasure (2016).
The last time Robbie was seen in the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter: The Sorcerors Stone documentary, Return to Hogwarts.

Stars from Harry Potter Series were seeing mourning the demise of Hogward’s gentle half-giant and half-human Rubeus Hagrid AKA Robbie Coltrane. A recent source it is revealed that Daniel Redcliffe aka Harry Potter said in an interview, “Robbie was one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.”
He later added, “He always used to make us laugh when we were kids on set.” Daniel also recalled his childhood memories with Robbie as he mentioned, “I’ve especially found him keeping our spirits up the set of Prisoner of Azkaban when it rained …. we used to hide under Hagrid’s hut and Robbie use to tell us stories and jokes to keep our Morales up and running.”
Emma Watson who played Hermoine posted a story on Instagram saying, “Robbie was the most fun uncle I ever had he was kind and funny,” she also added, “You made us a family There was no better Hagrid. You made it fun to be Hermoine.”
Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter series also posted on Friday paying tribute to Robbie, “One of the fondest memories of filming Harry Potter was a night shoot on the first film scene of the forbidden forest. I was 12, and Robbie cared for and looked after everyone and made them laugh. He was a big friendly giant on screen even more so in real life.”
On the 20th anniversary Robbie also shared his fond memories with young actors he said, “Watching them grow is like watching your kids growing. You know? Because you were sort of protecting them.” He later also added, “I was always so astonished at how fearless these kids were.”
JK Rowling the author of “The Harry Potter” series also tweeted saying, “I will never know anyone remotely like Robbie again. He was an incredible talent, a complete one-off and I was beyond fortunate to know him and laugh my head off with him. I send my love and deepest condolences to his family, above all his children.”
And Warwick Davis, who played Professor Filius Flitwick and the Goblin Gripbook in the movies remembered Robbie as “someone who was always jovial” and brought light warmth, and Laughter to any set he walked into.”
