After the tremendous success of ‘Pathaan’, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for another big-screen venture with the action-packed film titled ‘Jawan’. Recently, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted the movie a U/A certificate. However, the CBFC has also recommended certain changes to the filmmakers, particularly related to specific dialogues and intense scenes in the film.
Board’s Feedback and Changes-
According to the CBFC’s notification, it was advised to remove the visuals depicting a beheaded body. Additionally, certain dialogues required modifications for better alignment with the film’s context. The report indicates that an out-of-context reference to the ‘Honorable President of India’ was appropriately adjusted to ‘Head of State’. Following these alterations, the phrase ‘Paida hoke’ was eliminated from the ‘Tab tak beta vote daily…’ dialogue.
In a similar vein, the dialogue ‘Ungli karna’ was substituted with ‘Usse use karo’, and the term ‘Sampraday’ was seamlessly incorporated into the ‘Ghar, paisa…ki buniyaad par’ dialogue.
Furthermore, ‘irrelevant references’ to the National Security Guard (NSG) were meticulously removed. Interestingly, the abbreviation NSG was transformed into IISG within the film. This series of adjustments collectively resulted in seven cuts being made in the movie.
Runtime and Release Date
With these revisions in place, the film now boasts a runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes (169 minutes). This film, directed by Atlee, will grace the silver screen on September 7, 2024.
Alongside SRK, prominent roles will be portrayed by Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Yogi Babu, and Riddhi Dogra. Notably, Shah Rukh Khan will impress the audience by playing a dual role in the film.
‘Jawan’ is backed by the production prowess of Shah Rukh’s wife, Gauri Khan, under the distinguished banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.
The movie is all set to captivate audiences in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages, aiming for a widespread and diverse cinematic engagement.
CBFC’s Impact on Cinematic Narratives: From ‘Pathaan’ to ‘Jawan’-
Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan ‘s earlier film ‘Pathaan‘ also went through the CBFC’s scrutiny and received a U/A certificate. What’s intriguing is that the censor board overlooked any objections to Deepika Padukone’s appearance in a ‘saffron bikini’ during the song ‘Besharam Rang’, despite public discussions. In total, the board recommended 10 edits for the film, including 3 relating to the song ‘Besharam Rang’.
Melodic Allure and Upcoming Release-
The ‘Jawan’ makers have already unveiled a song titled ‘Zinda Banda’, which has been met with fervent approval from fans. Adding to the anticipation, the second song ‘Chaleya’ showcases the enchanting romantic chemistry between King Khan and Nayantara. The mellifluous voice of Arijit Singh adds charm to the song ‘Chaleya’, which is masterfully choreographed by Farah Khan. The captivating music composed by Anirudh Ravi Chander further amplifies the excitement surrounding the film.
Moreover, Shahrukh Khan is set to lead in the film ‘Dhunki’, directed by the accomplished Rajkumar Hirani. Notably, this marks Shahrukh’s debut collaboration with Hirani. Joining him in pivotal roles are Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani. The film delves into the theme of illegal immigration across borders, promising to deliver thought-provoking content and impactful performances.
