Bobby Deol tells how he prepares him for his character in Love HostelĀ
Recently, Bobby Deol did an exclusive interview with zoom, E- Town news host Kriti Tulsiani, who talks about his upcoming movie Love Hostel. Host Kriti asked Bobby about his reactions from people on the trailer.
Bobby replied to her by saying that people have enjoyed everyone in it, and I mean the way they reacted to my character coming when they see my character, the way they have enjoyed.
The way I looked in movies, performances, and spoke my Haryanvi language was essential because I worked hard along workshops to get it as perfect as possible.
It has been a very positive reaction, so now this is just a trailer. We have to wait for how people react when the final product comes out on 25th Feb on Zee5.Ā
Kriti also asked Bobby what the transformations were you do take or what did you all do to get into the character’s mood.
Where Bobby said that I believe that when you get the feeling to play and when it’s written so well, all you can do is follow what is given to you in your script, just involved locally. I mean, that is what I do.
I keep reading my character and my dialogues, keep starting to make them my own and feel them. So that when I’m performing them, I can feel what I am saying, and I mean it. I think playing negative roles has been something I never thought about, and indeed, I am playing negative roles repeatedly.
Still, it’s so much fun because there is so much excitement and things you can do with your character and look at my character’s looks in this film.Ā Ā
We already planned that this character would have this thick beard, unkempt look, burnt face, bent nose, gray hair, so the whole thing goes dark and looks onto the way he dressed; he doesn’t care what he is wearing.
He is always very focused, calm, and ruthless, which I kept in my mind while performing this character. Then this man eats Tabacco the whole time, so I had to put a piece of cotton in my mouth throughout so that my mouth goes like I am eating it.
I’m always talking with it in my mouth to give a different texture to the way I speak. So yes, it was great fun to prepare this, and it was so much fun to play.Ā Ā
I just enjoyed every day on set, working with everyone. Red chilies and Rishim are, I think, two very passionate film-making companies who are so dedicated to their work. Shankar whose such an excellent Director; I guess it was such a pleasure that I met him.
He might make all these dark and gritty films, but he is such an incredible soul when you meet him personally.Ā
Working with such lovely young actors as Saniya and Vikrant are so dedicated to their art is such a pleasure. They are so versatile and natural in the approach, and it was so lovely to work with them.
I felt like a senior actor because I still remember the first day when I was at my hotel someone nuked at my door, Vikrant and Saniya walked into my room. They were looking at me and saying we are such a massive fan of you, Bobby, sir, we are so excited to work with you.
I was so overwhelmed by just meeting them. I was so happy to work with them, and here these kids are coming up and telling me that they are excited. I suddenly get like, okay, I think I have been in this industry for too long.
