On Monday, a Varanasi court ordered that the location where the “Shivling” was discovered within the Kashi Vishwanath Temple-“Gyanvapi Mosque” should be sealed. and said no one should be permitted within the restricted area.
On Thursday, the court ordered a video survey in Varanasi’s “Kashi Vishwanath temple”-“Gyanvapi mosque” complex. After three days of investigation, the survey of the premises was completed at midday in the presence of-appointed Advocate Commissioners, lawyers from both sides, all involved parties, and officials.
The District Magistrate, Varanasi, is asked to “urgently seal the area where the Shivling has been located,” the court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar remarked while accepting the petition of the Hindu petitioners’ lawyer. No one should be permitted into the sealed area. Varanasi district magistrate, Varanasi police commissioner, and CRPF commander, Varanasi will be directly responsible for the protection and effective control of the place that will be sealed. “
During the hearing, the court also stated that the UP director general of police (DGP) and the UP chief secretary will be in charge of overseeing the sealing of the site. The five Hindu petitioners, represented by Advocate Hari Shankar Jain, filed a case in the Varanasi court on Monday after the completion of the survey, claiming that a “shingle is found in the mosque premises at the spot where waju khana is situated.”
The Allahabad High Court on Monday postponed the hearing on Varanasi’s Kashi-Vishwanath temple-Gyanvapi Mosque issue till May 20. The high court’s decision comes as the Supreme Court prepares to hear the administration of Gyanvapi mosque’s appeal against the complex’s survey on Tuesday. The reports would be about to be submitted in court on Tuesday 17 May as per previous orders.
