The Space Agency, NASA Has Asserted That A 80-Foot Big Asteroid Is Heading Towards Earth At A Great Pace.
On the 19th of September, The space agency NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) declared that an asteroid; which tends to be highly dangerous is speeding toward the earth.
The asteroid is said to be 80-Foot wide and its speed is calculated to be near 60,372 kilometres per hour.
The month of August and September have flourished with the passing of asteroids. More than 3 asteroids passed the earth in one day, in which Asteroid 2022 SF is one of three asteroids that made a close approach to Earth, and two more are anticipated to do so today.
The asteroid 2022 SF is at a distance of close to 5.5 million kilometres currently but it will come closest to Earth within days. Asteroid 2022 SF has been classified as a Potentially Hazardous Object even though it is unlikely to make an impact on Earth due to its proximity.
The group of asteroids known as Apollo includes the asteroid 2022 SF.
It takes this asteroid almost 586 days to complete one orbit of the Sun, with its closest distance being 135 million kilometres and its farthest distance being 275 million kilometres, according to sky.org.
The updates about the thousands of near-Earth objects are found by ground-based surveys supported by NASA, such as Pans-STARRS1 in Maui, Hawaii, and the Catalina Sky Survey near Tucson, Arizona.
Asteroid flybys have been common throughout September, with nearly 30 asteroids passing Earth in uncomfortable proximity. Yesterday, four asteroids passed close by Earth, making it one of the most frequent flyby periods this month. The Planetary Defense Coordination Office of NASA monitors these space rocks for any signs of posing a threat to Earth.
NASA has now issued a warning that another asteroid is approaching the earth’s area.
