Kiccha Sudeep has gained huge of popularity with the pan-Indian audience with his intense acting. The actor’s recent release Vikrant Rona is considered one of the most anticipated thrillers of 2022. From the posters to the trailer, the film had a theme similar to Journey to the Mysterious Island and Jurassic park.

The dark and creepy cinematography of Vikrant Rona was getting the audience inquisitive about the piratic scenario and role of the actor. This is the first time Jacquline Fernandez in a multilingual film. The movie was released yesterday and the charts are out for reviews and ratings.
The plot of the Movie
The film begins with a fictional town in an unknown era (probably the ’60s or 50s) and sees mysterious sightings as the children disappear. Is the culprit man or the devil? When all are suspected, can Vikrant Rona (Kiccha Sudeep), the new badass cigar-smoking cop in Ghost Town, solve the mystery and hunt down those responsible?
The scene is very similar to Satyajit Ray’s Adventures of Feluda and Agatha Christie’s detective novel.
Vikrant Rona Review
A Kannada film dubbed in Hindi, Anup Bhandari’s dark fantasy adventure (in 3D) is a bold attempt. It’s also atmospheric. Not many Indian films have ventured into this genre so far. However, the director struggles to find direction and specificity in his story. It starts as a children’s fable, then becomes a supernatural horror thriller, then a mystery, and finally a western. The first half wanders on and on forever with no character or story development.

All we see is Kiccha Sudeep, giving a fiery slo-mo hero look with a shrill back score that never lets fear creep in. That’s the beauty of directing. The climax of the film changes the whole idea of the film. So the audience goes and sees! Oddly enough, the second half has never been so contradictory. The film begins in the second half where there is something of a story. The mystery that unfolds is pretty solid and compelling. Had it picked up speed sooner, this film would have the potential to be an amazing thriller.
Other changes due to the pandemic
Four years in the making and even filmed during Covid, the film visually does its best to live up to the ambitious standards of the genre. A fight sequence in the rain is particularly interesting and feels international. If you can get over the seedy first half, the second half is quite engaging and fairly easy on the eyes. Jacqueline Fernandez is a flawless dancer and her steamy song (Ra Ra Rakkamma) and presence liven up the story.

If you’re in the mood for a decent horror crime thriller told in a strong and dramatic style, with an added focus on Kiccha Sudeep’s prey, this one won’t bother you. Vikrant Rona could turn into a decent mystery series full of darker adventures if the creators get rid of the unnecessary fluff. With so much potential, we wish this mysterious fantasy had jumped on the opportunity sooner.
Mixed Reviews
Many leading news and entertainment portals say that the film is confusing. The plot gets twisted the whole time in the first half and the second half brings the sense and that’s what elevates the film into a triumph thriller and suspense.

Some say that it’s just the marketing of the movie but in a real sense is no joy. Sudeep Kiccha must do a negative side more and again bringing Jacqueline into the picture is purely ornamental. The boring part comes in the beginning and could not bind the audience.
