There is no information to make a bond.Â
At the same time, India reiterated that it has no information about any Indian being taken hostage in war-torn Ukraine. Efforts are on to rescue Indians trapped in Kharkiv, Sumi and other areas affected by the war.Â
Problems faced by citizens.Â
Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said that we have not heard of any Indian being taken hostage in Ukraine. Due to the security situation, some areas are facing difficulty in leaving, especially from Kharkiv and Sumi region.Â
Putin gave this statement.Â
However, I have not heard of anyone being held hostage, the spokesperson said. Asked about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement that citizens of some countries are being detained and held hostage in the war-torn region, Bagchi said, “You should always ask questions to the person who made the statement.”Â
Ukraine was accused.Â
A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin alleged in a video call with members of his Security Council that Ukrainian nationalist groups were preventing civilians from leaving. Putin claimed that these groups were using civilians as shields and were firing to provoke the Russian military.Â
Efforts continue to evacuate civilians.Â
At the same time, a spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said that about 300 Indians are in Kharkiv and 700 in Sumi. He said that there is a conflict zone. However, we are making constant efforts to bring all Indians.Â
