Film Shamshera starring Ranbir Kapoor failed at the box office and the filmmaker Karan Malhotra wrote a note after its flop and said that he “can’t handle the anger and hate”.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor’s recent movie, Shamshera, failed to gather the sort of responses that he expected from the critics and audience.
After a massive round of advertisements and promotions, the movie, which marks Ranbir Kapoor’s comeback to the silver screen after 4 years, earned only Rs 31.75 crore during its first week.
The film also received some disastrous reviews, and now, director Karan Malhotra has written a note saying that he couldn’t handle the ‘hate and anger over the past few days.
Director Karan Malhotra posted a message on social media (Instagram) with the title ‘Shamshera is mine’ and wrote, ‘My dear Shamshera, you are as majestic as you are.
I need to show myself on the social media platform because here is where celebration, hate, love, and disrespect exist for you.
I want to implausibly say sorry to you for my passing you for the last some days because I couldn’t handle the anger and hatred.
My passing was my frailty and there is no justification for it.”
He continued, “But now I am here, standing next to you feeling honored and proud that you are mine, we will face everything together, the bad, the good, and the ugly.
And the Shamshera family, the cast of Shamshera, and A huge slog to the crew. The blessing, concern, and love showered on us are the most precious and no one can take them away from us.”
Ranbir Kapoor about Shamshera
In an earlier interview with Ranbir Kapoor, the lead Actor of the movie shared that the reason he chose Shamshera was that it was “catering to a large audience.” He further added, “It had a range of amazing characters, emotions, and some amazing action sequences. It was a larger-than-life film”.
Review of Shamshera
The movie was very poor, boring, and messy. The movie Shamshera also starred actors Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor.
It was marketed as a conventional Bollywood film and actor Ranbir Kapoor’s first attempt in the genre. He appeared in a double role playing both son and father in the movie.
