Ukraine War, Ukrainian forces claim to have destroyed an ammunition depot in the southern city of Nova Kakhovka using US-made missiles. However, Russian officials dispute such claims and say they hit a few warehouses and homes, killed 7 people, and left 80 injured. No one has so far confirmed the extent of damage and the number of casualties
Ukrainian forces used the US-supplied HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, says Ukrainian Presidential aide Mykhaylo Podolyak. This is also a “reality collision” for the world’s second-largest army, he said. On the other side, Katerina Gubareva, A Russian official deployed in the Southern Kherson district, has accused Ukraine of attacking peaceful cities with US-made weapons.
HIMARS is far more accurate than any Russian equivalent so far. And Ukraine’s forces have credited them with a string of attacks on Russian-held areas. Russia had seized Kherson province during the opening days of their invasion. Meanwhile, Ukrainian has launched a counter-offensive there while the Russians push forward in the east. Kyiv has so far urged residents in the area to leave to escape a counterattack.

Ukraine Claims, Ukraine’s attack has left dozens homeless and destroyed much of the city, said Russian official Vladimir Leontyev to the Russian agency Tass. The attack has left 7 people missing, says Kirill Stremousov, another Russian-backed official. Monday’s attack was so powerful that windows within a 2 km radius had blown out. Also, flats, hospitals, and a market were destroyed, a Russian TV claimed.
On the other side, Ukrainian officials claim that the attack has killed 50 Russian soldiers and destroyed Russian military hardware. Yet both sides agree that the US-made HIMARS rocket system was used. Meanwhile, unconfirmed video footage of the attack is being circulated on social media.
