WhatsApp is a messaging application created by WhatsApp Inc., which was acquired by Facebook in February 2014. It uses your phone’s internet connection (4G/3G/2G/EDGE or Wi-Fi, as available) to message friends and family for free.
Unlike SMS and MMS, which are text messages that can be easily tracked, WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption; messages sent within the program are decrypted only on the recipient’s phone.
In addition, WhatsApp sends a message to the sender when you open their message. This way, you don’t have to check your phone constantly or fear being hacked or spied upon by someone else.
The messaging app is free and users do not have to install it to use it. But you will have to install it to receive messages from the app.
Websites like WhatsApp are widely used because they are free and easy to use. They can also be used for sending files that can be big in size, which could be anything like a photo, video, or even a document. You can also make voice calls with these free services.
The application is available on most mobile operating systems and web browsers.
WhatsApp web is a version of WhatsApp for desktop operating systems. It is available for Windows and Mac OS X computers, and it lets users use the application without needing to install anything on their phone.
This means that users can send text messages, photos, videos, locations, documents and voice calls from their computer. They can also create groups of up to 256 members that they can message with in real-time.
All messages sent through WhatsApp Web are encrypted end-to-end.
While WhatsApp does provide a feature to add stickers or gifs for your profile picture, the company is now considering adding a cover photo option.
This feature will allow you to create a professional-looking account pic and also protect your profile from accidental exposure of personal content, such as photos or videos.
Currently, there is no word on when this new feature will be introduced. But it is expected that WhatsApp will roll out the feature to all users this year as it is one of the most requested features.
The company also confirmed that it has over 100 million users’ profiles that contain a business card photo and said that those people would be able to use the new feature.
WhatsApp will warn users if the new feature is enabled on their account, but they will have the chance to uncheck it before it’s rolled out.
The story was first reported by WABetaInfo and later confirmed by a source familiar with the company. The feature will be available for Android, iPhone and Windows 10 users.
The development comes at a time WhatsApp is looking to grow its user base as part of its one billion users mission. In order to achieve its target,
In October 2016, it announced new message forwarding rules that prohibit users from sharing messages more than once and allows only five groups per account instead of twenty groups.
After the new feature is introduced, it will be up to third party developers to integrate the feature with their apps. However, there is little point with WhatsApp if users aren’t able to make use of this new feature.
The comment follows rumors that WhatsApp has been working on including a cover photo feature since last year. Wholly more responsive and powerful, it is one of the most requested features under its ‘one billion plus’ mission.
