A “photography library” as one of the biggest libraries in Africa has been set up in Ghana. The new concept-based library has been established in Accra, Ghana’s capital and largest city. The library has been named Dikan, which means “take the lead” in Akan, a Ghanaian language. The library has been named after the Dikan Center, a Ghana-based non-profit organization committed to visual education. It goes without saying that the library displays the extraordinary works of photography across the continent, but the library has also been established in order to promote such works of photography and visual storytelling in Africa.…

Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen seeks help from another largest economy apprehending security threats from China. The Taiwanese President reaches out for Germany’s help in a meeting which was held on Tuesday after German delegates landed in Taiwan on Monday. The G-7 Summit for the year 2024 will be hosted by Japan. According to the Finance Ministry of Japan, the Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki is likely to set out for a three-day visit to Singapore and Vietnam. A Trial for the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize recipient Ales Bialiatski will be held in the Minsk court. The trial for the Belarusian activist will be held on Thursday as announced by the court. The Nobel Laureate and major activist was charged with 12 years of imprisonment. No trials Ales Bialiatski along with his deputy Valentin Stefanovich and another activist, Vladimir Labkovich have been imprisoned since July 2021 without any trials, over charges of providing illegal financial support to rights groups. Considering the recent invasion attempts by the North in South Korea, the President of South Korea Yoon Suk-yeol issued warnings of removal of the joint inter-Korean agreement of 2018. Another industrial action by the railway employees is being witnessed on Tuesday amid high inflation in Britain. The strikes are creating great obstacles in the daily services and the system flow. The President of Philippine Ferdinand Marcos’ visit to China on Tuesday is suspected to be based on long conflict in the South China Sea. Two Palestinians have been reported to be killed in the west bank area of Palestine. Two of the deceased is said to have been shot dead during a raid by the Israeli military troops. The raid was being conducted around the Area ‘A’ of West Bank. Those killed have been identified as Mohammad Samer Hoshiyeh and Fouad Mohammad Abed aged 22 and 25 respectively. Other casualties has also been reported. Peacemakers are meeting to ensure maintenance of peace between Ethiopia and Tigray region According to a statement by Nuur Mohamud Sheekh, spokesperson for the regional Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) on Thursday, conciliators were meeting on the capital of Tigray region, Mekelle. The authorities gathered after a peace agreement was signed because of growing violence between the Ethiopian government and the other faction TPLF which is the former ruling party.
