Kiara Advani continues to support her film Kabir Singh and her character Preeti three years after its release. Kabir Singh, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was a remake of his own Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, which was released in 2017.
The film starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani and received a lot of mixed reactions from the audience for the characterization of both the leads, i.e., Kabir and Preeti.
When the film was released, it sparked heated debate, with many criticizing it for glamorizing misogyny and toxic masculinity. She said that it would always be a love story for her. She also said that as an actor, one always wants to be versatile.
In a recent interview, she said, “For me, deep down, it’s a love story, and the thing about love is that it’s the only thing that will allow you to forgive some behaviors in life.” Relationships are very complex and it’s very easy for a third person, even me, to tell someone to come out of that relationship if someone has cheated on someone, someone has not been respectful of the other person, or has slapped someone. But only two people living in that relationship understand the real reality.
Kiara talking on the slap scene said, “After that slap in the interval scene, Preeti leaves Kabir. You didn’t see that? You completely forgot that? The truth is that she goes back to him in the end only when he comes to convince her. That’s what love does I guess.”
She added, “When you take any one scene out of the film and blow it out of proportion and then you just talk about that one scene, you definitely have not seen the entire film.”
Kiara was recently seen in Jug Jugg Jiyo starring opposite Varun Dhawan and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 opposite Kartik Aryan. Kiara will next be seen in Govinda Naam Mera and Satyaprem Ki Katha.
