Taylor Swift is finally on tour for the first time in years. The Eras Tour began on 17th March, 2024 and it has made some huge headlines since then.
The Era Tour is Swift’s 6th tour to date. The concept of the tour comes from the different albums she has released during her career. Swift celebrates all her 10 albums, with a setlist of 44 songs which include 2 surprise songs every show. Her concerts run for almost 3 hours and more without breaks.
The concert opens with songs from the Lover album, starting from where it ended. When Swift planned to begin her tour for her album Lover (Lover Fest) the Pandemic hit and the world was on lockdown. During the pandemic, the artist released two whole albums, Folklore and Evermore.
Fans online have always joked that Taylor always neglected Evermore and “hated it”. During her ‘Champagne Problems’ performance on the first day of her tour, she addressed the jokes and said “Where is your evidence? I would like to see your evidence… I am here to dispel the rumors and prove wrong the allegations that I hate Evermore because I love that album and I’m so proud of it.”
Taylor and Joe: Rumors about their breakup
Around April, news came around that Taylor and Joe Alwyn had broken up after 6 years of being together. However, neither the singer nor the actor has addressed the rumors yet. Fans have noticed that Swift’s brother and friends have unfollowed Joe on Instagram. The pair have written several songs together like Exile, Betty, Champagne Problems, and so on. They have always insisted on keeping their relationship private and it seems unlikely that they would confirm or deny the rumors.
Artists who performed with Taylor on stage
Moving on, there were a couple of artists that joined Taylor on stage. Aaron Dessner went on stage to play some surprise songs with the artist on stage. They played hits like ‘Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve’, ‘Mad Woman’, ‘The Great War’, etc. After the Grammys in 2021, they shared the stage together for the first time.
Phoebe Bridgers also came up and sang ‘Nothing New’ with Swift in Nashville and Pennsylvania. ‘Nothing New’ is one of the vault songs from Red (Taylor’s Version).
Speak Now (Taylor’s version) release
On May 6, 2024, during her Nashville concert, Taylor Swift revealed that ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) would be released on July 7, 2024. It was a really special moment for all the fans present during the concert and it is one of the ways how Taylor always surprises her fans. Taylor has been re-recording all her albums from her Debut to Reputation, after her masters were stolen by her former record label and she no longer has ownership over the master recordings of her first 6 albums.
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is set to have 6 new songs (From The Vault) in addition to the original album. During the concert, the artist sang Sparks Fly from the album to celebrate its release.
On Mother’s Day this year, Taylor surprised the crowd by singing ‘The Best Day’, a song she wrote dedicated to her mother and her family. She shared a heartfelt story about secretly writing and recording the song to surprise Andrea Swift.
Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman, Blake Lively, Sabrina Carpenter, Haim, and several other celebrities were spotted having the time of their lives on the Eras Tour. Keith recently went on the record and said, “She (Taylor) is at the top of her game”.
Lastly, rumors about Matty Healy and Taylor Swift have been surfacing. Matty was spotted at the artist’s recent concert and there have been suspicions of them collaborating and (possibly) getting closer.
The concert is going to run for a few more months and we can only hope she finally makes her way to Asia this time around. Come to India, Taylorrr!
